Stockport Radio Society - Mailing List
Background
The Stockport Radio Society now has its ownInternet EMAIL Mailing List. This is used to inform members of club newsand events, to circulate items of general amateur radio interest, and justabout anything else.
Who can join the list
Membership of the list is available, free of charge, to club members and to anyone else with an interest in Amateur Radio, Short Wave Listening orthe club itself.

Responsible Usage
The list is not moderated. Any items sent to the list will be distributed toall list members within seconds. As the list is open to members and non-members alike, please be careful not to send any messages of a personalnature, or which someone might consider offensive or inapropriate.
Any List member can send items to the mailing list. When you are readingyour Emails, please remember that messages have not been checked by the committee, and that messages may have been sent by non-club members.
Viruses
The most common way of viruses spreading is through Email. If a member's PCis infected by an EMail virus, it is possible that it may send itself as an attachment to the SRS mailing list. Although the list will block most emailscontain attachments, we cannot guarantee that one will never get through.
As a precaution, you should not open any file attachments, whether they are from a mailing list or sent to you directly, even from someone you know.
It is always a good idea to have a virus scanner installed on your PC. Tobe most effective, it should be updated from the manufacturers website on a regular basis (ideally at least once a week)

Sending a message
Once you have subscribed to the mailing list, you can send an email to everyoneby addressing it to . Our server willautomatically forward it to all the list members. If all is working properly,this should take less than 30 minutes.
Leaving the list
Send an message, from the email address you want to cancel, to containing just the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in thesubject field.
Changing your EMAIL address
If you change your email address, fill in the form above to re-register. If your old emailaccount is still active, you can stop any further messages being sent to it be following theunsubscribe instructions above. Don't worry if that's not possible, as the list server will eventually remove any "dead" accounts.
