| What is it? | Quite simply, its a means of taking digital still photographs from your PC using the internet. Instead of using an expensive digital camera, the internet digital camera is 100% software driven. |
| How does it work? |
Instead of having to buy your own camera, the Internet Digital Camera uses software throughout. When you load the camera, a small DHTML script isuploaded onto your computer.
This program takes the place of the camera. Once the program has captured the image, it is sent over the internet to our server, where it is digitally enhanced and converted to a JPG file, which is sent to you as an EMAIL attachment. |
| How long does it take? |
Taking the photograph takes just a few seconds - not much longer than an ordinary camera.
If all is working properly, we should be able to process the photograph in less than one minute, and will E-Mail the result to you very shortly afterwards. It may of course then take a little while for the message to reach your in-box. |
| What about the Focus and Exposure? | This version of the camera is still a beta version, with fixed focus and exposure. For the best results, sit close to the screen - about30cm or 12inches is ideal, in bright indoor lighting. |
| What does it cost? | This beta version of the program is available to non-business users totally free of charge. Of course, if you find it useful, you may wish to upgrade to the full comercial version, available 'real soon now'. |
