The Barpackers are an Amateur Radio contest group from South Manchester in the North West of England. We regularly take part in the 2metre SSB Backpackers competitions using the callsign M1BAR/P, hence the name of "Barpackers".

The competitions last for four hours during which time groups of Radio Amateurs try to make as many contacts with other groups over as far a distance as possible. There are five contests spread throughout the year, with individual winners for each contest and an overall winner for the year.
